Get to Know Christine Riedy, PhD, MPH

Since her arrival at Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2013, Dr. Christine Riedy has made invaluable contributions to the School's integration efforts. Whether through her work with the HSDM Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine, or in her role as principal investigator for the Center for Integration of Primary Care and Oral Health, Dr. Riedy leads by example and sets the bar high for those around her.

Dr. Sung Eun Choi, along with fellow HSDM faculty member Dr. Corneliu Sima and HSPH faculty member Dr. Ankur Pandya, recently published new research in Diabetes Care, entitled “Impact of Treating Oral Disease on Preventing Vascular Diseases: A Model-Based Cost-effectiveness Analysis of Periodontal Treatment Among Patients With Type 2 Diabetes.” Read the article here.

Former HSDM dean, Bruce Donoff, DMD, MD, Jane Barrow, MS, and Hugh Silk, MD, MPH, attended the Harkin Institute's event, Closing the Divide. Dr. Donoff offered the keynote address, which can be viewed hereJane Barrow and Hugh Silk also presented. 

In December, Christine Riedy, PhD, MPH, and Jane Barrow, MS, attended the National Oral Health Value-based Care Convening in Orlando, Florida. The event was sponsored by DentaQuest and covered why moving toward value-based care in oral health is important, as well as the current and desired states of oral health care and reimbursement.

The HSDM Initiative to Integrate Oral Health and Medicine welcomed four new board members: Norton Travis (ProHealth Dental), Robert Zou (Arrail Group), Myechia Minter-Jordan (DentaQuest), and Colleen Van Ham (UnitedHealthcare Dental). Welcome Norton, Robert, Myechia, and Colleen!
